William A. Vanderpoel
Bill is the co producer of Hummingbirds of North America. Though he had little video experience prior to the project, as you see in the credits below, Bill contributed a lot of great video. The favorite would have to be the immature Violet-crowned Hummingbird from Miller Canyon.
Bill lives in McArthur Ranch, Colorado where over the past five years he's planted and developed one of the top hummingbird gardens in Colorado. Various species of penstemons, salvias and agastache are augmented by scrub oak and other places to hide, several water features and lots of hummingbird feeders. Breeding Broad-taileds are joined in July, August and September by many Rufous, Calliope and even a few Black-chinned.
